Kaduna State’s first lady, Hadiza El-Rufai, will be speaking about her latest book, ‘An Abundance of Scorpions’ at the Ake Arts and Book Festival.
The event is taking place on friday at Ogun State council for art and culture in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
In an exclusive interview with Daily Trust, Mrs. El-Rufai said the novel, which focuses on the struggle of an orphan was inspired by some of the work she has done that involves orphans.
Last night, in a concert at the festival, Mrs. El-Rufai danced on stage as veteran Yoruba singer Salawa Abeni performed. Abeni thrilled her audience when she suddenly switched to the Hausa language while singing.
The 2017 Ake Arts and Book festival, themed ‘This f-word’, is an annual event that hosts artists and writers from across the globe.
It began Tuesday November 14 and will end on November 18.
