A Sharia court sitting at Magajin Gari, Kaduna in Kaduna State, has adjourned the case filed against a popular Kannywood actress, Hadiza Aliyu-Gabon to November 15 for out of court settlement.
City & Crime recalled that one Bala Musa, a civil servant. filed a suit against the actress for allegedly refusing to marry him after spending N396,000 on her.
According to him, they had been in a relationship with the actress and that she promised to marry him. Gabon had denied knowing him, saying she had never met him in her life.
The Judge, Malam Rilwanu Kyaudai, on Wednesday, adjourned the case after another senior lawyer, Sulaiman Lere prayed court to give him chance to talk to both parties to settle the matter.
The complainant’s counsel, Barrister Nurudeen Murtala, supported the settlement proposal made by Barrister Lere, adding that reconciliation was an act loved by God and so would not oppose it.
The defendant’s counsel, Bar. Mubarak Sani, also supported the settlement proposal but prayed the court to listen to the witnesses the complainant was supposed to present.
