The Kaduna State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has called on the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) to provide the state with more passport booklets to cater for its 2,491 pilgrims for the 2022 Hajj exercise.
The Executive Secretary of the board, Dr Yusuf Yakubu Alrigasiyyu, made the call when he received an NIS delegation led by Comptroller of Immigration, Kaduna Command, O. Adapoyi, at his office yesterday in Kaduna.

He said there were a lot of passport requests waiting to be approved at the command’s office, noting that the board needed NIS’ support to operate efficiently.
Alrigasiyyu further said due to the security challenge around the Kaduna airport, the screening exercise for intending pilgrims would take place at the Hajj camp instead of the airport.
On his part, Comptroller Adapoyi said the request for more passport booklets had been approved by the NIS headquarters and assured that there would be enough booklets in the state in the next few weeks.
