Adizatu Dazumi, a 75-year-old female pilgrim from Edo, has died at the ongoing 2025 Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia after a brief illness.
Recall that 206 pilgrims from Edo State were airlifted for the 2025 Hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia on May,15,2025.
It was gathered that the deceased was from Jattu Uzairue, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.
She was said to passed away on May 26, 2025, at King Fahad General Hospital, Makkah, after a brief illness.

Musah Uduimoh, chairman of the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, confirmed the incident on Tuesday.

According to him, Ms Dazumi fell ill shortly after performing Tawaaf, the circumambulation around the Kaaba- and was admitted to the hospital on Sunday.

The board chairman said the pilgrim, however, died the following day.

“In line with Islamic tradition, she was buried in Makkah on the same day she passed and her family in Jattu Uzairue had been duly informed of the development,” Mr Uduimoh said.
