The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has stepped up preparations for the success of the 2025 Hajj by conducting a key catering simulation exercise at the Rawaf Mina office in Makkah.
The exercise aimed to assess the quality, timeliness, and standard of catering services arranged for Nigerian pilgrims under the private tour operators’ quota.
Representing the NAHCON Chairman/CEO, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, the Commission’s Makkah Deputy Coordinator, Mr. Alidu Shutti, led the delegation to Rawaf Mina—a Saudi-based company responsible for providing services to Nigerian private tour operators at the sacred Masha’er sites of Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah during the core days of the Hajj rites.
In a statement by NAHCON’s Head of Public Affairs, Muhammad Ahmad Musa, Shutti stressed that the quality and quantity of meals presented during the inspection, considering taste, portion size, and nutritional value, must match exactly what will be served to pilgrims during the Hajj.
In response, Rawaf Mina’s CEO, Mr. Zuhaer A. Sadayu, assured NAHCON officials that a dedicated food service consultant had been appointed to supervise all phases of meal preparation and delivery.
He pledged that feedback from the inspection would be carefully addressed and integrated into final service plans to ensure that pilgrims receive full value for their money.
Meanwhile, NAHCON Chairman, Prof. Abdullahi Saleh, said the Commission’s officials in Makkah are fully prepared to receive pilgrims arriving from Madina for the 2025 Hajj.
At least 25,702 pilgrims from 12 Nigerian states have already arrived in Madina to visit the Prophet’s Mosque and other sacred sites ahead of the pilgrimage.
He also expressed confidence that the 2025 pilgrims would enjoy a smooth Hajj experience throughout the spiritual journey in the holy land.
