The Chairman of the Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Sheik Ibrahim Oyarekhua, has advised intending pilgrims who had made deposits of N4.5 million each to complete their payment before February 12, 2024.
Sheik Oyarekhua gave the charge while addressing stakeholders and the intending pilgrims on the Haj fare announced by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
He said the charge became necessary so that those who had the intention of performing the 2024 Hajj might not miss out.
He explained that, “NAHCON has put the Hajj fare at N4,899,000 million for the South, while pilgrims from the North will pay N4,699,000 million. The difference is occasioned by the proximity of the Northern region to Saudi Arabia.”

Oyarekhua also urged intending pilgrims from the state who still had issues with their passport issuance to follow up quickly as it was not possible to travel without the international passport.
He assured that the board had made adequate arrangements for accommodation, transportation and other logistics for a smooth Hajj.
