Defending champions Tojemarine Academy produced a thrilling second-half comeback to edge a resilient Adamawa Warriors side 29–27 on Day 3 of the Ardova Handball Premier League 2025 Phase 1 in Benin City, Edo State.

After suffering a loss to COAS Shooters in their previous outing, Tojemarine looked headed for another defeat as they trailed 12–16 at halftime.

However, a spirited resurgence in the second half—fuelled by relentless pressing and clinical finishing—saw them claw back into the contest and ultimately claim their second win of the campaign.

In other men’s fixtures, Rima Strikers turned the tables on Lagos Seasiders, romping to a 32–17 victory despite being 14–16 down at the break. Niger United continued their unbeaten run with a 21–17 win over Benue Buffaloes, building on their 11–8 halftime lead to control the second half.

Safety Shooters cruised to a commanding 38–27 victory over De Defenders, while COAS Shooters dismantled Osun United 25–13. Adeshola Adelakun starred for the Army side, netting 10 goals in a dominant display that saw them lead 14–4 at halftime.

In the women’s category, Rima Queens brushed aside Rivers Queens 33–23, powered by a dominant 16–8 first-half performance. Imo Grasshoppers battled from a 10–15 halftime deficit to edge Ekiti Queens 29–27 in a tightly contested clash.

The day’s action concluded with Plateau Peacocks defeating league debutants Soof Omo Ogiefo 26–21. Goalkeeper Deborah Landan delivered crucial second-half saves, inspiring the Jos-based side to overturn an 11–12 halftime deficit with composed defending and sharp shooting.
