If a country fails to meet the basic obligation for which the social contract was engaged – security, then what is left of that country? Absolutely nothing.
The call for self- defence by one of the states is a glaring testimony of how hopeless the situation has become. From the past seven years forward, it has been multiple excuses. No concrete solutions have been proffered, and no hope is at sight except men with the requisite ideas are voted into power next year.

We are tired of the excuses. We are tired of the bulk passing. The essence of leadership is to solve problems. Every leadership inherits problems and this is the essence on which agitations for change of leadership is based. If the people were comfortable with previous leaderships, there would have been no need for the clamour for a change of leadership.
Late Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu said, “The more empty the leadership, the more reliance on primordial forces”. According to Late Prof. Chinua Achebe, “This is an example of a country that has fallen down; it has collapsed. This house has fallen.”
The current administration must rise up to its duties of ensuring the security of its citizens. Enough is enough!
