A former international, Hassan Abdallah, has been appointed Head coach of Heartland FC of Owerri.

He has been appointed as replacement for Fidelis Ilechukwu who is said to be on his way to Plateau United.

Abdallah who once played for the Nigeria national U-20 team, the Flying Eagles and a number clubs  like Kano Pillars, Abiola Babes, Ranchers Bees, Gombe United, Sharks, Calabar Rovers and Enugu Rangers is expected to reverse the dwindling fortunes of the Heartland who managed to survive relegation in the 2021 NPFL season.

He was unveiled yesterday in Owerri by the Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Chyna Iwuanyanwu and Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Dan Ogu.

Before his appointment, he had coached Katsina Spotlight, Kano Pillars and the Flying Eagles.

Abdallah was Paul Aigbogun’s assistant in the Flying Eagles.
