Preparations for the 30th-anniversary celebration of the Sarkin Hausawa, Alhaji Hudu Ismaila Madugu, in Takum Local Government council of Taraba State are underway, with organisers confirming that all necessary security arrangements have been put in place to ensure a hitch-free event.
Speaking during a press conference in Jalingo, the state capital, event organisers led by Alhaji Sani Abdullahi Tullu, announced that they had secured approval from key stakeholders including security agents to proceed with the celebration.
The milestone event, scheduled for April 1 2025, according to the organisers, will honour the traditional ruler’s three decades on the throne.
The occasion, Alhaji Tullu, stated is expected to attract prominent dignitaries, including General T.Y. Danjuma, who is among prominent sons of Takum that would receive special awards in recognition of their contributions to society.

“We have the support of critical stakeholders, the traditional institution, and the government to mark the 30th anniversary of Sarkin Hausawa on the throne,” Tullu stated.
He said the event will serve as a platform for the Hausa community in Takum and in all part of Taraba State to showcase their rich cultural heritage and express gratitude for their progress.
Tullu, further stated that the celebration was aimed at promoting peaceful coexistence among various ethnic groups in Takum and Taraba state in general.
He also disclosed that a book titled, “A Brief History of the Hausa Community in Takum which contained cultural values and spiritual impact of Hausawa on Takum and its surroundings will be launched during the celebration.
Other activities planned for the event, as outlined by the organisers, include cultural exhibitions, displays of traditional arts and artefacts, and historical reflections on the social, political, and economic contributions of the Hausa community.
These initiatives, the organisers,stated further said will serve as a reminder to younger generations of the importance of discipline, cultural heritage, and communal harmony.
“The celebration is aimed to foster brotherhood, neighbourliness, and mutual understanding among all ethnic groups in Takum, further strengthening the region’s unity and development,” Tullu said.
