Gbolarumi was raised in Ibadan in a modest family setting. His mother was a trader at Agbeni Market, while his father worked as an Assistant General Manager with Peugeot Automobile in Kaduna. This upbringing exposed him early to both commerce and structured corporate discipline.
He completed his secondary education at Timi Agbale Grammar School, Ede, before embarking on further academic and professional development.
In a remarkable academic journey that spans decades, Gbolarumi returned to formal education after serving as Deputy Governor of Oyo State in 2006. He studied Law at the University of Ibadan, marking a significant transition into the legal profession.
