City College of Health Science and Technology (CCHST), Zaria, Kaduna State, has offered free medical treatment to over 1,200 patients in Zaria, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

The Provost of the college, Mr Sankyai Obadiah, made the disclosure on Monday while interacting with newsmen at the end of the exercise held at the college premises in Zaria.

He said the essence of the gesture was to extend a hand of fellowship to the neighboring communities, adding that it was part of the institution’s corporate social responsibilities.

“As a Health College, we want to give back to the society being the host community what it had been doing to us, we want them to feel us too.”

“Considering the economic situation of the country, many people can’t afford simple medication now, hence the decision to embark on this exercise.”

“People with different ailments came from far and near, and were adequately attended to, and to the glory of God, the exercise was peaceful and successful,” he said. (NAN)
