The founder of UK-based Myrtle Healthcare Ltd, Tamuno Tonte Abban, has been honoured both in Nigeria and Morocco for exemplary leadership and role in health care development.
In Nigeria, she was honoured on June 14, 2025, at the Nigerian Silent Award ceremony, organized by the Nigerian Silent Heroes Awards Initiative (NSHAI). It celebrates individuals who have made quiet but powerful impacts across various sectors.
While Tonte Abban was recognized as Silent Hero in Healthcare, the IGP Kayode Egbetokun represented by the Force Public Relationship Officer, FPRO, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi IGP received the Silent Hero in Policing award. Other notable awardees included Governor Monday Okpebholo (Infrastructure), Senator Bala Mohammed (Rural and Urban Development), Tony Elumelu (Global Leadership), His Highness Muhammadu Sanusi II, Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu (Politics), and Seyi Tinubu,(Youth Employment).
In her address, the Project Coordinator of the NSHI Mrs. Odita-Sunday congratulated awardees who have impacted society through selfless service.
In Morocco, she was honoured at the Visionary African Women Summit 2025, which was held from June 16th—22nd at Marriott Hotel, Casablanca.
It was designed to unite African women from diverse sectors and foster inspiration, empowerment, and nation-building.
With the theme, “Empower Her,” the Summit also equipped participants with a series of mentorship programmes aimed at preparing them for leadership positions.
The convener of the Visionary African Women Summit, Amb. Dr. Chinwe Lilian congratulated participants expressing delight that they utilized the opportunity to develop themselves.
Not long ago, she was honoured along with the Minister of Women Affairs Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, First Lady of Enugu State, Her Excellency, Nkechinyere Iheoma Mbah, and several other dignitaries at the African Iconic Women Recognition Awards (AIWRA).
