The acclaimed theatrical performance, Hear Word! will finally berth in Abuja this evening, Sunday May 8th as the performance marks the end of its international tour with the latest performance of the play being at Harvard University and Frascati Theater in Amsterdam.
The Etisalat-sponsored Hear Word! Naija Woman Talk True, which will be staged at the Transcorp Hilton from 6pm, is a powerful piece of performance art that combines artistry, social commentary and true-life stories of inequality and transformation, delivered by some of Nigeria’s most talented actresses. The stories are based on real issues affecting the lives of women across Nigeria and examine what factors limit their potential for independence, leadership and meaningful contribution.
The theatrical ensemble of home grown actresses includes: Taiwo Ajai-Lycett, Joke Silva, Bimbo Akintola, Omonor, Elvina Ibru, Ufuoma McDermott, Zara Udofia-Ejoh, Debbie Ohiri, Rita Edward and Odenike will ensure the production continues to captivate audiences around the globe whilst also provoking thought and discuss. 
The producer and director of ‘Hear Word!’  Ifeoma Fafunwa said the stage play is a collection of stories of real life accounts that serve as an eye-opener to the plight of women. The performance brings to our consciousness the need to broaden our perspectives on those socio-cultural and political issues that affect women,” she said.
Head, Events and Sponsorship, Etisalat Nigeria, Modupe Thani, said ‘Hear Word!’ aligns with the company’s objective of creating and supporting creativity through arts in its various forms.

The stories in ‘Hear Word!’ are based on real life experiences that play up the numerous cultural, legislative, economic and social restrictions which limit the potentials for achievement, independence, decision-making and leadership among women. They also aim to inspire support for women and the fight against all forms of ills that affect the well-being of the society.
