A Federal High Court sitting in Jalingo, Taraba State, has fixed July 14 for hearing in the suit filed by Chief David Sabo Kente, one of the All Progressives Congress governorship aspirants challenging the alleged non conduct of the party’s primaries in the state.
In the suit, Kente prayed the court to restrain the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from receiving the name of the second defendant, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress for Taraba State.
Similarly, the plaintiff also urged the court to restrain APC from submitting Bwacha’s name to INEC as the candidate of the party.
The plaintiff also urged the court to restrain Senator Bwacha from parading himself as the candidate of the party.
Meanwhile, the presiding judge, Justice Simon Amobeda, who had earlier granted that the three defendants be served through substituted service ordered that the service be served on the counsel to the second defendant, Senator Bwacha, in court and adjourned the case to July 14 for hearing.
The counsel to the plaintiff, Chief Offiong Offiong (SAN), who spoke to journalists at the court said his client, Chief David Sabo Kente, was in court to challenge the non conduct of the last APC governorship primaries in Taraba State, adding that the purported governorship primary was never conducted.
Also speaking on the matter, the counsel to Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, Dr Ibrahim Effiong, said he was satisfied with the proceedings of the court, adding that he was prepared to go ahead with the case.
