Last weekend, Heartland threw away a two goal lead against Warri Wolves and were lucky to get a draw in the match which saw former Kano Pillars star Bello Kofar-Mata opening scoring for Heartland in the in the 10th minute of the first half.

Speaking to Trustsports, the former junior international said the encounter promises to be a difficult one but Heartland is set to grab the three points at stake.

He said the disappointment of last week is not anything to distract them because even in the English Premiership team’s throw away such opportunities as he said Arsenal had the same fate in their match against Tottenham last week.

Okonkwo said they have since put behind them that sad experience but would learn from it to avoid a repeat.

He said: “We are battle ready. We want the three points tomorrow (today) against Kaduna United. They are a good side but they will not find it easy against us.

“Although we lost the opportunity to win our away match against Warri Wolves, we have since put that behind us. We are looking forward to tomorrow’s (today) match with optimism.

“Kaduna United players are youthful but dangerous and we are not going to take chances against them. Going by the spirit in our camp, I have no doubt that we would come out victorious”, he said.

On his part, captain of Kaduna United Papa Idris who had been sidelined by injury said he is coming back at the right time.

He told Trustsports that he will provide the needed inspiration and confidence for his side to wreck the millionaires in their backyard.

Idris said although Heartland is a club that deserves respect, Kaduna United will be in Owerri for the three points and the least result they will take back to Kaduna would be a draw.

He said: “You know I was down with injury but thank God I am back at the right time. This is an important match and surely my presence will inspire my team mates.

“We are going to give Heartland a run for their money. We respect them but we are also aiming at a good result. The end of 90 minutes will decide who would carry the day. All we ask for a fair officiating”.

Host Heartland is 13th on the table while Kaduna United occupies seventh position.
