The Heirs Energies OML 17 Joint Venture, in partnership with Redtech, has commissioned an Integrated Operations Monitoring Centre (IOMC), a digital facility designed to enhance operational efficiency, improve asset monitoring and accelerate technology-driven oilfield operations.
The commissioning, held in Port Harcourt, marks another milestone in the Joint Venture’s digital transformation strategy, bringing together production monitoring, facility performance, security surveillance, hydrocarbon evacuation and critical operational data into a single integrated platform.
Developed through a collaboration between Heirs Energies, operator of OML 17, and Redtech, the technology company within the Heirs Holdings Group, the centre is expected to provide real-time operational intelligence that will support faster decision-making, improved collaboration and enhanced visibility across the oil mining lease.
Speaking at the commissioning, the Chief Executive Officer of Heirs Energies, Osa Igiehon, described the facility as a significant step in the company’s drive to leverage technology to improve upstream operations.
“The future of upstream operations will be driven by data, technology and intelligent decision-making. The Integrated Operations Monitoring Centre provides us with a real-time operational view of our assets, enabling quicker decisions, improved collaboration and enhanced operational efficiency,” he said.
According to Igiehon, the facility reinforces the company’s commitment to deploying innovative solutions that deliver safer, smarter and more resilient operations across OML 17.
The Integrated Operations Monitoring Centre serves as the central digital hub for the Joint Venture, consolidating operational information from multiple systems into a unified platform that supports production optimisation, asset integrity management and operational risk mitigation.

Also speaking, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Redtech, Emmanuel Ojo, said the project demonstrates the growing role of technology in improving industrial operations and creating measurable business value across Africa’s energy sector.

“At Redtech, we believe technology should simplify operations, improve decision-making and create measurable business value. The IOMC demonstrates what is possible when digital innovation is applied to industrial operations,” Ojo said.

Since assuming operatorship of OML 17 in 2021, Heirs Energies has implemented its Brownfield Excellence strategy aimed at revitalising one of Nigeria’s largest onshore oil and gas assets.

The company said the strategy has increased crude oil production to more than 50,000 barrels per day while expanding domestic gas supply to over 135 million standard cubic feet per day and improving operational reliability across the asset.
