From the information available to us, the plots if developed would block the view of the planned State Mass Housing Estate. We wish to appeal to Governor Magatakarda Wamakko to note that most of the owners of these plots of land inherited them from our parents; and we likewise wish to bequeath them to our offspring. We use them for business purposes, some of which are car wash stands and block moulding factories which serve as our sources of living. If government goes ahead to revoke the titles to these plots, we could face financial difficulties.
The governor is known for his generosity of providing shelter to the populace. Based on this, we suggest to the governor to either integrate us into the upcoming estate by giving us designs to follow and we will have no objection if roads will be carved out from our plots, or rather provide us with alternative commercial plots owned by the Government along Low Cost expressway, Garba Duba Road or Kano Road opposite FGC Sokoto etc. By so doing it will be a win-win situation, no winner, no loser and it will appease the anger of the owners and observers.
As 14 owners of the plots, we appeal to the governor to use his good office to call on the overzealous Development Control staff to restrain from demolishing the infrastructures pending the payment of compensation and allocation of alternative commercial plots within the metropolis.
