The Coalition of Fulani Organisations in Plateau State has appealed to security agencies, particularly Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), to assist in recovering their rustled cattle from Mangu, Bokkos, and Bassa LGAs.
The coalition lamented that over 300 cattle valued at N169m belonging to its members were rustled between March 11, and March 30, 2024, and that two herders, Isa Abubakar in Kwamuru and Naziri Muhammad in Tangur were killed during the period.
In a statement, Garba Abdullahi Muhammad (chairman), and Adam Yakubu (secretary), the coalition expressed deep concern over the strategic and deliberate crippling of their business.
The coalition also mentioned the seizure of 70 cattle by OPSH and appealed for their owners’ access to reclaim them.

While emphasising their support for combating criminality on the Plateau and their willingness to cooperate in investigations and prosecutions, the coalition appealed for assistance from the federal and state governments, security agencies and other stakeholders.
They requested help in recovering the rustled cattle and protective measures for their community and facilitating access to grazing areas.
They also called for measures to address indiscriminate arrest and illegal detention of their members to facilitate a safe return of displaced persons and intensified efforts to combat arms and drug dealing in the region.
