They included Desmond Elliot, who won the All Progressives’ Congress (APC) ticket for the Surulere constituency in the Lagos State House of Assembly and Funke Adesiyan, who won the APC ticket to vie for the Ibadan South-East constituency in the Oyo State assembly.
But Kate Henshaw lost the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) ticket for the Calabar South/Akpabuyo/Bakassi federal constituency in the House of Representatives just as Kenny St. Brownalso failed to get the APC ticket for Ikeja constituency in the Lagos assembly to the son of the party’s national spokesperson, Folajimi Lai Mohammed.
Other losers are Tony Tetuila (Anthony OlarenwajuAwotoye), who vied for a seat in the Kwara State House of Assembly, Kenneth Okonkwo, 9ice, D1 (DayoAdeneye), Bob Mauel-Udokwu and Tony Muonagora.k.a ‘Tony One week,’ who both sought to represent Idemili North in the Anambra State House of Assembly.
Hip-hop artiste, 9ice (AboloreAkande) lost his bid to represent Ogbomosjo North/South and Orirefederal constituency in the House of Representatives to Prince AkeemOyewumi, son of the Soun of Ogbomosounder the APC banner.
Kenneth Okonkwo backed out of the PDP primary for the Nsukka/Igbo Eze South federal constituency after the state chapter of the party jettisoned zoning policy. Primetime co-host, D1 also lost his bid for a seat in the Ogun State House of Assembly.
Tetuila, was conspicuously absent at the Kwara State APC primaries as he was reportedly had earlier been warned by stakeholders and party elders in his constituency to bury his ambition for now and step down for a more grounded politician so that the party would not lose the election proper.
Nollywood actress Henshaw took to her twitter account to address her loss with grace: “The primaries was conducted in an orderly manner. It was fair n transparent. Sadly I did not make it. My congrats to the winner.”
