Herder, cyclist arrested selling stolen sheep at FCT market

A herder, identified as Shehu and a commercial cyclist, Lawal, have been arrested by vigilantes while attempting to sell a stolen sheep at the cattle market in Abaji, Abaji Area Council of the FCT.

One of the vigilantes, identified as Ibrahim, said the incident happened on Sunday, which he said was Abaji market day, around 2:12pm.

He said the herder allegedly stole the sheep from another herder resident in Mai Kwari village in Kwali Area Council and engaged a commercial cyclist to convey it to sell at the market.

He said the arrest of the herder followed a report lodged with vigilantes in Kwali, who also alerted their colleagues in Abaji about a stolen sheep at Mai Kwari village.
