Oyo State commissioner for youth and sports Dapo Lam Adesina boosted Crown with the cash soon after they defeated Kwara United to qualify from the Lagos zone of the Federation Cup.

He said he hopes this will further motivate the players to advance in the cup competition.

In a telephone chat with MTNFootball, Dapo Lam said, “David (Crown FC) has overcome Goliath and this is a sign that we are going somewhere.

“The token cash reward will motivate these players to give their best in the quarterfinal. Crown have done well already.”

The commissioner made the pledge before the game started on Monday and fulfilled his pledge after Crown made it to next stage.

Crown FC will now travel to Port Harcourt to battle cup holders Heartland for a place in the semi-finals.
