The Falconets emerged Group C winners with seven points and will face the Oceania giants that came second in Group D at the Moncton Stadium, 9pm Nigeria time.
Falconets, the only African representatives left in Canada arrived in Moncton at 9:15pm on Thursday enroute Montreal after departing Edmonton where they played their last Group C game against England.
The Nigeria side were back at former camp base Delta Beseaujour Hotel and held training sessions at the Harrison Trimple High School pitch, Moncton.
Speaking on arrival, Falconets’ head coach Peter Dedevbo hinted at reorganising his defence ahead of the quarter-final game with New Zealand while assuring that his team will exhibit improved character, team spirit and winning mentality against the Oceania champions.
“We have to make correction in our defence. We had problems during our last match as one of our lead defenders had to move to play in the midfield because Osas was absent, but thank God she is back,” Dedevbo said.
Falconets midfielder Osarenoma Igbinovia who was missing against England due to a slight injury has been declared fit and back in training with the rest Nigeria squad.
