President of the Hotel Owners Forum Abuja, Dr. Bola Onigbogi, has said hiked taxes are one of the challenges hoteliers are contending with.

Onigbogi said this at the HOFA annual dinner which held recently in Abuja.

In her opening remarks, while highlighting some of the challenges faced by the hoteliers in 2016 to include hike in taxes, she also said electricity tariff and constant harassment by government agencies in-charge of revenue collections posed a problem.

Notwithstanding, she said there was a need for HOFA members to come together to thank God for surviving such a turbulent year and pray for better conducive environment for businesses in 2017.

The president explained that HOFA’s goal is to champion the worthy cause of all the hotels in the Federal Capital Territory with a major aim to provide a platform that enables members to meet and share ideas, experiences, identify challenges and proffer solutions to these problems.

Commissioner of Police FCT command Mr Mustapha Mohammad while giving his remarks on security, enjoined HOFA to see themselves as co-stakeholders with ensuring that Abuja remains safe for its citizens and visitors alike.
