The Kano State Hisbah board in collaboration with ministry for local government has organized a two day training workshop to its personnel.
In his welcome address, the Commander General of of the board, Shaikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa said that the workshop was organized to improve working relationship between the board and other security agencies.
Sheikh Daurawa said that the board had started receiving some complaints from people on the way and manner the Hisbah personnel conduct themselves in discharging their duties.
“You know our staff mostly deal with people more than any security agents, so there are a lot of complaints on how they conduct their work, based on that we realized that there is need for them to be trained, to improve and enhance their work”
The commander also called on the general public to report any Hisbah official caught misbehaving while on duty, as the board had established a disciplinenary unit to punish such officers.
In his remarks the Commissioner for Local Government, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo commended Hisbah for its contribution towards improving security in the state.
Garo added that the Hisbah had became a reconciliation center, hence decongest courts in the state.
“Hisbah is playing significant roles in reconciling disputes among people in the state. It also helps in decongesting our courts.”
The commissioner assured Hisbah of government support to improve its services.
In his goodwill message the Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammadu Sanusi II, who was represented by Dangoriban Kano, the District Head of Tarauni Local Government, Malam Ado Kurawa said that the emirate council was proud of Hisbah Board.
One of the participants, Hajiya Mariya Sani of Hisbah Fagge Command thanked the organizers of the workshop and promised to put what they learnt into practice.
