Hiyana, who married Alhaji Ado Dangulla in the wake of a damaging sex scandal that brought the whole of Kannywood into disrepute, has since her marriage been off the public arena until rumours about the fate of her marriage surfaced.

A source, close to Hiyana revealed to Sunday Trust that Maryam has never experienced any form of misunderstanding with her husband, not to mention being divorced.

“It is incredible that baseless rumours are being spread over Hiyana’s marriage. She has been happily married all this while. I just can’t understand why people want to create another tension and confusion about Hiyana’s marriage again,” the source said.

“People should please mind their businesses and let Maryam be. She has been in peace therefore no one should give her life another bad look. She has put public issues behind her and has ever since been a cheerful wife and mother. As it is, both Maryam and her husband are doing all things possible to sustain their marriage” the source added.

The sex saga involving the actress was the prime cause of the Kano, State Censorship board crack down on film makers in Kano, leading to a yearlong suspension and subsequently, stringent censorship.

Hiyana has since avoided the media and the public and the naming ceremony of her son was kept under wraps as only a few family members and associates have been allowed access to the son resulting from her marriage.
