It is really sad that degree holders are always given preference over HND holders. In November 2016, I wrote an open letter to the Executive Secretary Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) which was published in Daily Trust newspaper on the 10th of November 2016, in which I advocated for equal opportunity for HND holders in the award of PTDF scholarships. I wrote that letter when I discovered that only degree holders were considered for the scheme. 

Sadly, recently I also discovered that only degree holders took part in the exams and screening exercises for scholarships for further studies abroad.  I urge the government and all relevant parties to look into this matter so that HND holders could be at par with degree holders.
