Achiv told SHOT! exclusively that Nigerians should not lose their sleep on the matter as those of them in camp are determined to take up the challenge.
“They should expect good football and we are going to give them good football. Everybody in Nigeria is expecting us to do well. We are going to bring the trophy. I promised by the grace of God we are winning the tournament because in the other African Cup of Nations, the senior team did it. They won the trophy after 19 years, so it is a kind of motivation for us to replicate it”, he said.
The player who said he is happy to be part of the present squad expressed optimism that even with the competition in camp for shirts,  by the grace of God he will be part of the team to South Africa come January 2014.
“Everything is going well and I thank God. My invitation to the camp is by the grace of God and I thank God I am here today.  I believe I will do well to make the list.
“It is good but tough in the camp. Everybody that is here is doing very well, but you know everything depends on God and hard work,” he said.
