Mumps is caused by a virus but what’s most distinctive about it is the swelling of the salivary glands. That’s what causes the puffy cheeks and a tender and swollen jaw.
Some mothers swear by termite earth. that’s earth taken from a termite mound. Mix a bit of it with water to make a paste, then spray on the swollen cheek. How it helps with the swelling is not known but mothers swear it does.
