Using a cotton bud or swab to clean your ear of wax may actually lead to the bud getting stuck in. To deal with that, mix a bottlecapful each of hydrogen peroxide and water. Soak clean cotton wool in the mixture and gently drop one wet wool swab inside the ear canal. In a few minutes, the foam resulting from the combination should send the stuck bud loose. Pick up and discard.
