Home Remedy Alert! PROBLEM: Ingrown toenails? Try: water, cotton

Ingrown toenails are a common condition in which the corner or side of a toenail grows into the soft flesh. The result is pain, redness, swelling and, sometimes, an infection. What to do?

Soak your feet in warm water for up to 20 minutes four times a day to reduce swelling and relieve tenderness. After each soak, place cotton under the toenail. This will help the nail grow above the skin edge.

Apply antibiotic cream and choose sensisble footwear. You can also consider taking a pain reliever.
