Honourable Moshood Adeleke, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State and aspirant for the Offa/Oyun/Ifelodun Federal Constituency in the forthcoming general elections, has extended felicitations to the people of Kwara and Nigerians at large on the occasion of this year’s Democracy Day.

In a goodwill message issued on Wednesday, Adeleke, who is also the founder of the Honourable Moshood Adeleke Foundation, described June 12 as a day of reflection and renewed commitment to the ideals of freedom, justice, and participatory governance.

According to him, “Democracy Day is not just a commemoration of our hard-won liberty, but a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made by heroes past to secure the civil rights and political freedoms we now enjoy. It is a day to recommit ourselves to the cause of good governance, equity, and national unity.”

He commended the resilience and determination of Nigerians in upholding democratic values despite economic and security challenges.
Adeleke also praised the people of Kwara State for their steadfast support for democracy and their continued trust in progressive leadership.

“As we celebrate today, let us not lose sight of the task ahead of building a more inclusive and prosperous Nigeria. I call on all Nigerians, especially the youth, to stay engaged in the democratic process and work towards a brighter future for our dear country,” he added.

Honourable Adeleke reiterated his belief in the transformative power of quality representation and pledged to offer purposeful leadership when elected into office.

He emphasized his commitment to policies that will uplift the socio-economic conditions of the people within the Offa/Oyun/Ifelodun axis and beyond.

The Democracy Day celebration, held annually on June 12, marks the annulled 1993 presidential election widely regarded as the freest and fairest in Nigeria’s history. It serves as a symbol of Nigeria’s enduring democratic journey.
