The Federal Commissioner at the National Pension Commission (PENCOM), Hon. Hafiz Kawu, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, on the passing of his mother, Lydia Toma Yilwatda, who died at the age of 83.
Hon. Kawu in an emotional tribute, described the loss of a mother as an irreplaceable void in the life of any child, no matter how highly placed. He noted that at this crucial period when Prof. Nentawe is entrusted with the enormous responsibility of steering the affairs of the ruling party, his late mother’s prayers, guidance, and wise counsel would have been most needed.
“A mother remains the truest friend, counselor, and pillar of strength one can ever have. Mama Lydia was more than a mother; she was a fountain of wisdom and a spiritual covering for her children. Her passing at this time is a painful reminder of how invaluable a mother’s presence is, especially when her son is at the forefront of leadership. Though her voice will no longer be heard, her values, prayers, and legacy will continue to speak through the life and service of Prof. Nentawe,” Hon. Kawu said.
He further described the late matriarch as a woman of faith, humility, and uncommon dedication, who served God faithfully in the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) and inspired generations of women to live lives of service and responsibility.
Hon. Kawu prayed for divine comfort upon Prof. Nentawe, his family, and the entire Ngas nation, urging them to find strength in the knowledge that Mama Lydia lived a fulfilled life of impact. He also prayed that her soul rests peacefully in the bosom of the Lord.
