An unspecified number of women and others returning from a local market have been reportedly kidnapped on Idah – Egabada-Odolu road in Igalamela/Odolu LGA in Kogi State.
City & Crime gathered that the incident happened around 5pm on Wednesday when the victims were returning from a popular Ega market at Idah in the eastern part of the state.
Locals said most of the victims were market women who were on their way to Ankpanya community.
“Two days ago, similar kidnapping incident took place on the same spot at Odolu area; one person was killed, two were injured in the process.

“On Wednesday, hoodlums stopped a vehicle at the said spot and whisked all its occupants and the goods they bought from Ega market in Idah into the bush,” said Enemali Okolo, a resident of Odolu.
He added that a passenger was shot dead while others including the driver were whisked away to an undisclosed location in the forest.
The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP William Aya, did not respond to calls and text message sent to him on the incident.
When our reporter visited the command’s headquarters in Lokoja, he was said to have gone out for an assignment.
