An Abuja based businessman, Alhaji Usman Okutepa nearly lost his life recently, when hoodlums attacked and injured him around the Lugbe area of the Federal Capital Territory.

Okutepa told Daily Trust he was on his way from work in the city centre when hoodlums bearing guns and cutlass descended on him and collected his belongings, consisting of phones, Ipad, ID cards and several documents.

The businessman disclosed that if not for the assistance of other road users who came to his rescue, he might have been killed by the hoodlums.

Okutepa, who narrated his experience to Daily Trust, said “I was attacked and robbed not too far from the Lugbe flyover on my way from the town to Gwagwalada area council.

“They were two in number, one with a cutlass and the other with a gun, they collected my phones and Ipad, my laptop bag containing documents,’’ he said.

He said he was able to recover his ID card and some documents the following day.
