Some hoodlums yesterday set a vehicle operated by Lagos State Bus Service Limited (LAG-Bus) on fire to protest the death of a commercial bus driver.
The vehicle was said to have had a head-on collision with a commercial bus at the Ifako inward Ogudu area of the state during a heavy downpour.
Seven persons, among them a 68-year-old female trader, sustained severe injuries in the auto crash, which most bystanders said could have been avoided.
The Director, Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department of LASTMA, Mr Adebayo Taofiq, who confirmed the incident, said the commercial bus had a head-on collision with the state government-owned bus.

He said the commercial bus somersaulted twice and that the driver died on the spot.
He said preliminary investigation revealed that the fully loaded commercial bus was coming from Lagos Island and heading to Ogudu when the accident occurred.
