A commercial motorcyclist, Danlami Yakubu, has been stabbed to death by suspected hoodlums near Priri village in Kwali Area Council of the FCT.
A resident, Ishaku Aliyu, said the incident happened on Wednesday around 9pm after the cyclist conveyed two people on his bike who pretended to be passengers but later pulled out a knife and stabbed him on the neck and then tied up his hands and legs.
“After they stabbed him, they dragged him to a bush by the road and tied his mouth with a cloth before they used a cable to tie his legs and hands,” he explained.
He said the cyclist was found alive in the pool of his blood by some villagers coming from Yangoji on a bike who stopped at the scene and alerted vigilantes from Yangoji who mobilise to the scene, conveyed the cyclist to the hospital but that he died on the way.
A police source at the Kwali Division said the police were investigating the incident while the deceased cyclist had been handed over to his relatives for burial.
The spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, SP Adeh Josephine, did not respond to calls up to the time of filing this report.
