Hoodlums have vandalised a transformer at Anguwar Sabon-Tasha, opposite Ayaura Comprehensive Primary Healthcare Centre in Abaji town in Abaji Area Council of the FCT.

A resident, Abdullahi Saidu, who led our reporter to the scene, said the transformer was discovered to have been vandalised on Saturday.

He said the vandals gained access after destroying the gate of the transformer’s cage and cut the cables that supplied electricity to Anguwar Sabon-Tasha.

He further said the vandals took the cables to an uncompleted building close to the transformer and peeled off the insulators before escaping with them.

He added that, “The incident has been reported to the officials of the Abuja electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) and security operatives.”
