The Moroccan health ministry in a complaint lodged to the Confederation of African Football, said it wanted the January 17-February 8 African football showpiece delayed “to avoid events which would involve countries affected by the Ebola virus”,
An official delegation is set to meet with President Issa Hayatou next week to discuss a possible postponement of the competition according to the said letter to CAF.
With qualification matches set to reach the fourth match stage by mid-week, this development will no doubt weaken the morale of some of the players and countries involved who have already started counting down to the January event.
