A 41-year-old hotel manager, Samson Dogo, was docked on Tuesday in a Kaduna Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing four CCTV cameras worth N2.4m at his work place.
The police charged Dogo of Sabon Tasha Kaduna, with criminal conspiracy and theft.
The prosecution counsel , Insp. Chidi Leo, told the court that on May 4 at about 10.30am, the complainant, Vincent Clement, reported the matter at Sabo police station.
Leo alleged that the complainant received a call from the information technology officer of the hotel located in Barnawa, Kaduna, informing him that four CCTV cameras were missing from the hotel.
He alleged that the defendant and one David, now at large, both employed in the hotel, were captured on CCTV footage removing the cameras.

Leo told the court that during the police investigation, the defendant could not give a satisfactory account of his actions.

The defendant however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The defence counsel, Sidi Hamza, moved a motion for bail for his client in the most liberal terms, promising that the defendant will not jump bail if granted.

The prosecution counsel however, did not object to the bail application made by the defence counsel.

The Magistrate, Ibrahim Emmanuel, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N500,000 and one surety in like sum.

He adjourned the matter until June 25, for hearing.(NAN)
