Five houses, four shops, two cars and one motorcycle have been burnt when a tanker caught fire along the Benin-Akure Road by Owan Bridge, Sobe town in Edo State.
It was gathered that the tanker, which was carrying automotive gas oil, coming from Benin City and heading towards the North when it veered off the road, spilled its content and caught fire.
The Edo State Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Dankwara, who confirmed the accident, said no lives were lost in the accident.

Dankwara, who was at the scene to assess the level of damage, commended the Okomu oil firefighters for extinguishing the fire.
