A housewife in Kwa town of Dawakin Tofa LGA of Kano State has been apprehended by the police for allegedly killing the son of her co-wife after using hot water on him.
Police said the suspect went to pick the child from his grandmother where he was recovering from the wounds of circumcision considering that his mother and father are separated.
It was alleged that despite the initial resistance from the grandmother, she took him away under the guise of taking care of him, only to allegedly use hot instead of lukewarm water to treat the wound.
Daily Trust also gathered that despite the intensity of the wound inflicted by the hot water on the lower part of his body, he was taken to a local healer instead of hospital and after three days, the child died.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, who confirmed the arrest of the woman, said she had been transferred to the Homicide Section of the Criminal Investigation Department for further action.
