A housewife has been arraigned before the Kano Magistrates’ Court No 25 for allegedly setting her husband ablaze after he entered the room of her co-wife and had discussions with her.

The suspect, Ramatu Bashir, allegedly poured petrol on him and set him ablaze after he rejected her demand to come out of the room of the newly wed co-wife. He sustained serious burns on his body.

The state counsel, Saima Garba, charged the suspect, Ramatu Bashir, with destruction of property and attempted homicide, to which she pleaded not guilty.
