A woman has been arraigned in a Kano State magistrates’ court sitting in Nomansland for allegedly poisoning the one-year-old son of her co-wife.
The defendant allegedly poured a pesticide, commonly known as ota pia pia in the food of the baby which resulted in his death.
The prosecution counsel, Barrister Abdussalam Dan Maidaki Sale, said the offence was contrary to Section 221 of the Penal Code.
However, for lack of jurisdiction, the Magistrate, Hajara Safiya Hamza, adjourned the case to October 30, and ordered her remand in a correctional centre.
