Huraira’s main trouble is that the baby delivered through the process was stolen away at Dutse General Hospital in Jigawa state by yet-to-be identified person (s).
She was sitting on a mat under a tree wearing a gloomy face with an expression of excruciating pain at interval as she attempts to cry in order to relief herself from the agony of losing the one-day-old baby.
The condition of the bewildered nursing mother deteriorated as she was made to battle with two challenging problems; the trauma of missing her first and only child and the pain of nursing a wound as a result of caesarian operation she underwent.
Huraira’s efforts to speak to journalists proved abortive as she wept intermittently.
Also, female patients in the hospital who thronged in to catch a glimpse of the nursing mother as she secluded herself for privacy did not help matters.
Friends, relatives and concerned citizens took time to console Huraira, but her emotional condition worsens as she cried persistently, until when women carrying babies were asked to keep away from her because once she sees a baby she became psychologically imbalance.

Huraira who hails from Laraba village in Dutse Local Government Area of Jigawa state, when she was comfortable to speak to journalists she said her first son was stolen without even setting an eye on him because she was sedated and put to bed through operation.
She explained that she was taken to the hospital on Thursday last week while on labour but when it was realized that she would not be able to give birth by self, they were advised for operation which they obliged.
According to her she was told about the ugly development when she asked for the baby for breast feeding, saying at the beginning nobody was willing to tell her what actually happened until when she insisted on seeing the child.
When I regained my conscious, I asked for the child to see  to breast feed him. But to my chagrin, I started hearing some stories which made me to be suspicious.
“I therefore insisted on seeing my child. Upon noticing the expression on my face, they decided to reveal what they all agreed to hide from me. Since then life is not just same again I am not just myself.”
The nursing mother, said for the fact that she was on sedation she could have known what was going on around her, probably she could have intervene when she notice unusual movement around her son.
She said it would have been easier for her to notice any foul play because her relationship with her step mother, who is the prime suspect, had been very frosty for over time and based on this she wouldn’t have allowed her child to be with her for even a minute.
Huraira was told that her step mother and one unknown woman left together while carrying the child with a view to bathing him in the step mother’s family house in Dutse metropolis but after a while the same woman came back to us with a new story. That was how the saga of the missing child began, she said.
“My personal relationship with my step mother is not that cordial. Everybody in the family knows about that.  Had it been I was in my senses I would not have allow her to go anywhere with my baby,” She reiterated.
On whether they will go to court, she said: “I can’t say anything in that regard, the decision to go to court for redress is entirely for the father of the boy. All I know is that my step mother came back to the hospital and reported that the other woman, whom she claimed not knowing, had run away with baby.”
On demanding how it all happened, Huraira said as her step mother and the unknown woman were going out from the hospital, her step mother asked the unknown woman to wait for her as she wanted to see the nursing mother who was in the ward. The unknown woman therefore, offered to help her in carrying the child which she obliged and decided to meet at the gate of the hospital.
She added that when she went to the gate she saw the unknown woman on a moving commercial motorcycle but she could not explained what happened because she was unable to raise alarm so that the woman would be arrested but instead she stood seeing the woman with the baby strapped to her back moving away.
Yahaya Ali alias Sarki Nakundum is the father of the missing child and he told Kano Chronicle that his wife underwent operation on Thursday at around 7 pm and the following day at around 10 am his child was declared missing.
He said on the fateful day, he saw his wife’s step mother along-side one unknown woman going out from the hospital premises while carrying his child, saying he had wanted to caution that the baby was too young to be taken out of hospital premises but his friends asked him not to do so to his mother in-law.
Ali said it was after he brought a kettle that would be used for boiling hot water for both the baby and the nursing mother, he learnt the boy was stolen and that was how he became speechless as everything was turned upside down for him.
He said while he reported the matter to the police, surprisingly, the step mother too had already reported the case to them, adding that his sister and the step mother were in police custody over the matter.
On demanding what his wife’s step mother told the police, Ali said he was told that she said the unknown woman used charm on her as she was seeing her running away with the child but she could not raise alarm.
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abdul Jinjiri confirmed the incident and said two women, Lubabatu Musa and Asabe Uba had been arrested in connection to the crime.
The police spokesman, who stated that the suspects were undergoing interrogation, also assured that no stone will be left unturned during investigation.
