From his ridiculous, childish videos on social media, to his immature posts and interviews, Senator Dino Melaye has not only brought shame to his constituents, and fellow senators, but to Nigeria as a whole. The latest, early this week, is so far the most ridiculous, which has him resisting arrest and causing a scene, eventually settling for a claim to be ill, and hospitalised. All this, to avoid arrest. All eyes, I think, should be on the Federal Government, on how it solves this Melaye problem. The joke has gone too far.

EFCC arrests, and other such impotent dramas
Recently, there have been some high profile catches made by the EFCC, as well as some equally dramatic announcements to probe top politicians. But honestly, I am tired. Nigerians, too, are tired. What is the problem? Lack of evidence? The judiciary’s catch-and-release brand of the law, or what really? Law enforcement, anti-corruption crusaders, and the judiciary, are all to me, impotent drama which we are all tired of.

For IGP’s attention: Wuse 2 checkpoints
I have for some time now assumed that police checkpoints in town have been banished, especially in Abuja city. However, in Wuse 2, there are about three notorious checkpoints where policemen harass, cajole and even beg motorists and their passengers for money. They also harass young women going about their legitimate activities. These policemen who give the force a bad name, are even elderly, though some of them are young. All I’m requesting from the IGP, or whoever is in charge of these things, to please take a c;loser look at the activities of the checkpoints in Wuse 2.

Abuja’s sewage problems might soon swallow us all
Many areas in Abuja city, have sewage problems. From broken sysytems to open manholes, it is a common sight to see excrement and dirty water streaming over streets, exposing residents to smells and all kinds of health hazards. Or don’t we have an FCT Minister anymore?
