‘How I was robbed by teenagers in Osogbo’

A resident of Osogbo, Osun State, Adepoju Suraju has narrated how some teenagers allegedly robbed him, dispossessing him of his phones and cash.

Suraju said five suspected robbers attacked him at Okinni area and stabbed him in the head. He added that one of them was arrested by policemen while others escaped. He said they took his phones and a cash sum of N45,000.

He was speaking at the court in Osogbo yesterday when police arraigned an 18-year-old, Kehinde Okeowo, the only person arrested for allegedly robbing him.

The police prosecutor, Fagboyinbo Abiodun, told the court that on October 27, 2019 at about 7pm at Okinni junction in Osogbo, the accused and others at large conspired and robbed Suraju as a result of which he sustained deep cut in his forehead.

The accused however pleaded not guilty. He told the court that he had no legal counsel and that his family members were not in Osun State.

The magistrate, Mrs. Adebola Ajanuku, subsequently granted the accused bail in the sum of N50,000 and one surety that must be residing within Osogbo  and adjourned the matter to November 20.
