Professor of Pharmacognosy, Prof Maurice Iwu has said the use of indigenous and home grown natural products helps prevent diseases and boosts  healthy living.
He stated this during the opening of Nature’s Emporium store, and launch of its organic dietary supplements with zero additives in Gwarinpa, Abuja.
“They are things that are produced here in Nigeria.  It has to be those that are essentially local, indigenous and organic.  There are no pesticides in their preparations, no fertilizers added and no artificial fertilizers added.
Everything is natural,” he said. Launching the store, entertainment maestro, Charles Oputa (also known as Charley Boy) said he stayed healthy by not smoking or drinking alcohol, in addition to using natural products. He said: As long as you stay focused on doing the right and positive thing.  If you want to live a longer life, apart from your lifestyle, you also need to invest in some of these.”
Director of Intercedd Health Products, Mrs Ijeoma Nwafor, stressed the need for people to plan to be healthy instead of waiting to be ill.
She said Nature’s Emporium believes in preventive health and has zobo leaves, teas from herbs and plant materials.
