The Kogi State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mrs. Oludolapo Ahile, died in Azuba Town of Lafia Local Government Area of Nasarawa State after she was involved in a car crash last Thursday.
Mrs. Ahile was travelling to Benue State in company of her husband, Mr. Michael Ahile, and two others.
Mrs. Zainab Isah, Coordinator of NYSC in Nasarawa State, while reacting to the crash, said, “They were rushed to the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital (DASH) in Lafia. The Chief Medical Director of DASH, Dr. Hassan Ikrama, five doctors and some members of his staff attended to the victims before she died around 03:00am on Friday.”
Mrs. Isah said the husband of the late Mrs. Ahile had a fracture on the thigh and the others sustained injuries.
Mrs. Isah said she contacted Gov. Umaru Al-Makura who sent an ambulance to convey the remains and her husband to Abuja.
She said the DG of NYSC, Brig. Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim, also offered assistance to those affected in the accident.
She said Mr. Michael Ahile, husband of the late Mrs. Ahile, is a former staff of NYSC and had retired three years ago.
She described the late Ahile as a close colleague, a hardworking senior staff of the scheme who would be dearly missed for her work ethics and principles.
