I wonder how long it is going to take the contractor and FCT administration to complete the Apo-Karshi road. Road users travelling between the two places are compelled to go the long hug through AYA, causing a lot of traffic congestion, but as usual, those responsible for the completion of that road are just relaxing. It is rather a shame for them to be so dormant when they actually have a task at hand. In a country where government works, that road should have been completed by now, but in Nigeria, nobody cares, except to persistently amass wealth at the expense of the masses.

Shame to destroyers 

of Fresh FM

At a time when many Nigerians are crying of unemployment, a man set out to establish a business outfit which engaged many unemployed people. Then, one day, someone deemed it wise to destroy it. The demolition of the structure housing the Fresh FM in Ibadan is a very disturbing development because apart from the broadcast outfit reducing unemployment, especially in this situation where many young Nigerians are looking for jobs, it amounts to an attempt to suppress the will of the media in playing social, informational, educational and entertaining roles in society. The demolition of the outfit is a shameful act by whoever did or ordered it, just as it is a big minus for the state government. The thing left for them is to not only come out openly to tender an unreserved apology and rebuild the structure with all the equipment but also pay adequate compensation to the owner for the act.

AIT, please watch your 

volume control

I always watch African Independent Television (AIT) as a choice TV station but I have observed rather sadly that the station has no stable volume. You are watching a programme this moment on a particular volume level, and the next moment the volume suddenly rises, especially during adverts and jingles, forcing you to keep adjusting your TV volume. It is not on just on one set, as I have about three TV sets in my house, and it happens in all of them and I noticed this in my neighbours’ houses as well. I think AIT engineers should stablise the volume of signals they send out, just like other proper stations.

Something good for 

children in Karshi

I walked around the other day in Karshi, Abuja and saw one new school called Mitchell Nursery, Primary and Secondary School along Awura Primary School Road in Karshi. It struck me because since I relocated to that area I had been looking for such a school to enroll my children but didn’t get any. I am pleased with the conducive learning environment for children there and hope that the proprietors keep up the effort to provide good education at affordable cost for children in the area. I also plead with the FCT administration to intensify work on the Apo-Karshi road to give residents a new transportation relief.
